* Please note that room assignments may change through the first month of a semester, due to many factors including: large changes in class enrollment, departments' decisions to add/drop courses and sections and instructors' decisions to increase enrollment. It may be beneficial to check classroom assignments often during this period of increased activity.

Established in March 2008, the Classroom Task Force is charged with evaluating classroom use and quality, and with making formal recommendations to the Provost. Click here for more information on the Classroom Task Force.
A rational approach to space allocation calls first for assignment of space for very large courses, followed by assignment of space for all others. Most of the largest courses Rice offers are "service" courses in BIOS, CHEM, MATH, PHYS, and STAT. These service courses are "anchored" in time (day/time meeting pattern) and space (classroom assigned) in order to provide a stable base and appropriate meeting spaces for all Rice classes.
