How do students declare a major/minor?
What is process for a student to be cleared for graduation?

Creating a new major or minor of study

Departments who wish to offer a new major or minor of study should contact the Dean of Undergraduatesexternal_link for more information about the processes and procedures.

Declaring a major or minor

Students wishing to pursue a course of study in a particular field should contact the specific major advisor for that department. A list of major advisors can be found in the Academic Advisingexternal_link website. Students should login to their ESTHERexternal_link account fill out, print, and submit a Declaration of Major or Minor form to the Office of the Registrar.

Graduation

Students who are planning to graduate must be sure to apply for graduation and request a degree audit to ensure the fulfillment of university graduation requirements. Next, the department in which the student is studying will be asked to certify that the student has met all departmental requirements for their major. This is done after the 10th week of classes for January degree candidates and after the 2nd week of the Spring semester for May degree candidates.
