How do I apply as a Visiting Undergraduate Student?
A visiting student is a student enrolled at another college or university that is approved, enrolled and classified as a non-matriculated Rice student. Visiting students are not registered as candidates for Rice undergraduate degrees.
Students wanting to spend a semester or a year at Rice taking courses for credit can apply for admission into the visiting student program. As part of this program, s/he may attend Rice for a semester or up to a year, depending upon the student's program affiliation. This affiliation also decides whether the student may or may not take course(s) for credit. The transfer of credits earned at Rice to another institution is decided by that institution's transfer credit policy. If a visiting undergraduate wishes to then transfer to Rice, he or she may apply as a transfer student after having not attended Rice for at least a semester.

How do I apply as a Dual Enrollment Student?
Dual enrollment at Rice is designed for accelerated high school juniors or seniors who have exhausted their schools' or communities' resources in a given academic discipline. Students registering for dual enrollment are restricted to a maximum of two courses per semester. High school applicants applying for dual enrollment must apply through the Admission Office

How do I apply as a Class III Student?
Class III students are students who already have an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college or university and are taking Rice courses for credit outside of a Rice degree program. To apply as a Class III student, one should apply through the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies

How do I apply as an Auditor?
Auditors may take one or more courses by securing written permission of the instructor and then registering as an auditor with the Office of the Registrar. The university grants no academic credit for such work. You may view the Cashier's Office
